Firefighting Advanced & Specialized

 

The Fort Myers Fire Academy in conjunction with the Southwest Florida Public Service Academy is pleased to announce we will now be offering continuing and advanced classes for firefighters. All of the classes offered at the Academy will be approved by the State for credit into FCDICE upon completion. Most classes are available for offsite instruction. Please contact us to schedule. Fire Department Administration- June 10th thru June 14th 2013 0900-1800 $185

Fire Prevention Practices - July 12th, 13th, 26th and 27th 2013  0800-1900 $185

Company Officer -  July 15th, 16th, 18th and 19th 2013  0900-2000    $185

Ethical and Legal Issues for the Fire Service - July 15th thru  19th 2013 0900-1800 $185

PIO-  August 2nd, 3rd, 16th and 17th 2013  0800-1900  $185

Micro Computer Concepts - August 26th thru August 30th 2013  0900-1800  $185

Initial Size up and Fireground Priorities for the first 30 min- June 26th 9-6 $75

Description: This class covers the fireground priorities for the first 30 minues of an incident and how the first due officer prioritizes the first alarm assignments. Using a sytematic approach the student will learn to quickly look at 5 key areas of an incident. 8 CEU hours are awarded for this class.

We would also like to take a moment to inform everyone of a new dress code for students. No shorts, flip flops or T-shirts. Jeans are acceptable (No rips/writing). Students must wear a shirt with a collar. Parking for students will be on the North side of the building and rear of the building. Also smoking is only permitted on the south side of the campus behind the shed.
